These guys provided a perfect proof, that Office for Mac MUST have a Russian spellchecker.
Mickey Mouse fires Mayor Bloomberg
Russian president fires Moscow’s mayor.
CNN doesn’t even have a clue, putting this line as something insignificant among dozens of others. For Russians it’s a lot more important than the news about former President Carter’s visit to hospital because of an upset stomach. In Russia, it’s the biggest headline in years. For Americans though, it’s like Mickey Mouse firing Mayor Bloomberg, a joke that is neither funny nor makes sense.
Something tells me that the follow-up will be much more entertaining than what would happen if Mickey Mouse fired NYC’s boss. Because I know of at least one big difference – Mr. Bloomberg took the office when he already had millions, Comrade Luzhkov made Billions since he took the office. He’s one of the greatest thieves of the century, and if you ask me, he should be fired properly (by a squad). Or at least replace Khodorkovskiy in the prison cell, and stay there for the rest of his life.
But in today’s Russia, he’ll remain free, and if he moves he will not go east where all the gulags are, but west. He and his wife have a nice “cabin” in one of the most expensive Austrian villages.

Great Russian resource for Drupal localization
The more I study contents of the drupaller.ru website, the more impressed I am. Take for instance their glossary of English-Russian "tested by time" translations. In my opinion it is excellent, and discussions of the terms in their forum show how mature and professional most participants are. Another thing I like about the discussion forum, is good moderation of posts. All participants seem to be serious about what they are doing, there is little off-topic discussion, if any, and what impressed me most of all, their Russian is very good.
They still use some jargon and geek-speak, make occasional grammar mistakes and typos but on the whole the Russian language is clean and pleasant to read. A rare treat on the Russian-language IT-related discussion boards, where the most active members are often young people whose command of Russian leaves a lot to be desired.
Are Drupalers smarter, more intelligent and better educated than other CMS developers?
My memories from serving in Soviet Air Force
Most of my military career time was with the Air Force. For eleven long years I was stationed in Frunze, now Bishkek, Kyrghyzstan, at the Air Force training center where I was interpreting for English speaking cadets from Soviet block, allied and friendly countries, like India. I should scan more pictures from that period of time. It would be interesting if some of those guys from the Indian Air Force find them and recognize themselves.
It’s funny that today, my new home country’s Air Force is using the same facilities in that Asian country. We used to call it Frunze-1, I wonder what name American soldiers use.
